Race Update

Memorial day weekend-
While my wife was partying with old college girlfriends in Manhattan, I traveled to Tallahassee, Florida for the Florida State Road Race (There is a state champion for all 3 diciplines of road racing; Criteriums, Road Races and Time Trials) as well as the "Team Atomic Criterium" which were held on Saturday and Sunday, respectivly.
With a field of 52 guys in the Road Race on saturday, I proved that my bronze medal in the State Criterium Championship was no fluke. Again I took the short step on the podium at the end of a very hot and HILLY State Road Race. With the finish line perched atop a 700 meter climb I patiently picked off a handful of guys to once again take the bronze.
I stayed in Tallahassee so I could race in Sunday's criterium as it would be my last race as a Catagory 5 cyclist (I upgraded to Cat.4). I don't know if it was due to the previous day's effort, or just a lack of energy; but I suffered like a dog for just about all of the 45-minute race (we averaged 24 mph!). Long story short, I placed myself in the top 5 coming out of the last corner and turned myself inside out in order to once again cross the line in 3rd!
So two podium finishes in two days is by far my best weekend of racing yet. Pictures will surely be posted at some point in the future, but in the meantime, try checking out:

to see if my results and/or podium pics are up there. You'll have to scroll to the cat.5 section.

What would you want to see here???

Let me know what I should throw up here next. If I'm able to find the image, I'll try to post it.
Mike-don't request anything stupid,
Tiny-no comment about my spandex

more pics

at this point, I'm just throwing things up here. This picture is me at the top of peak 8 in Breckenridge, CO. There is no point to having this image posted here, but it's my blog and I'll put whatever the heck I want up here!

Save the date

Make sure to mark your calendar for September 17, 2005. We'll be tailgating for the UF v. Tenn game.

While I'm at it...

Since I never use this blog site, I may as well take advantage of my current willingness to post. Attached is a picture of my niece, Hayley. She's the newest addition to my family and she was born just one day prior to my 30th b-day. She pretty darn cute wether she's just laying there sleeping, or when she's out cuttin' the rug.

State Crit Championship race-

I managed to squeeze into a podium spot at the recent Florida State Criterium Championships last month in Lakeland, FL. A hard race with a little climb up to the S/F line made harder by all the work I had done throughout the race in winning 3 primes. It was nothing but sheer will power that got me to the line in third as I was highly motivated to make it up onto the podium.

still kickin?

Is this thing sill kickin' er whut?
I forgot all about this blog, just as I thought I would!
